Dr. Lorena Riol Blanco is Vice President, Biology of Evommune and has a strong record of scientific leadership and extensive biotech experience in translational research, pharmacology, and drug discovery and development. Prior to Evommune, Lorena served as Director of Immunology/Immuno-Oncology at 23andMe where she led multi-departmental disease strategies to advance multiple drug discovery programs for inflammatory disorders and cancer. Prior to 23andMe, Lorena steered and developed several Immunology and Inflammation drug discovery programs at Genentech and successfully advanced multiple into clinical development. Lorena completed her Ph.D. studies at The Spanish Research Council, where she investigated the intracellular signaling pathways controlled by the chemokine receptors and the immune synapse in dendritic cells. During her postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School, she studied immunopathology, with a focus on the interactions between the immune and the peripheral nervous systems.
